DreamCloud is a popular brand for an array of sleeping products, but they only sell one mattress: the DreamCloud Premier Mattress. This mattress is affordable, yet it is a luxury mattress, too.

The reason that the DreamCloud bed is deemed a luxury mattress is that it is a hybrid model that offers both support and comfort. It uses memory foam for pressure relief, coils for mobility, and a plush pillow top for comfort.

Recommended For:

  • Back Sleepers: The DreamCloud luxury hybrid mattress provides support to key parts of your back and prevents you from sinking too deep into the mattress. Thanks to the firmness and coil core, back sleepers are sure to sleep with properly aligned backs, which will reduce aches and pains upon waking.
  • Couples: The DreamCloud hybrid mattress offers great support, prevents sinkage, and reduces motion transfer. As a result, this mattress is great for couples, especially those with a back sleeper and side sleeper pairing.

Not Recommended For:

  • Stomach Sleepers: The DreamCloud does not provide enough support for stomach sleepers. These sleepers will find their lower back ill-supported, causing back pain and an uncomfortable sleep experience.

About the Brand

dreamcloud mattress reviews

The DreamCloud Premier Mattress is the only mattress sold by DreamCloud, a leading online mattress and bedding company. DreamCloud is known for its affordable luxury products that can be enjoyed by any sleeper or sleeping position.

Though DreamCloud only sells one mattress, they sell a plethora of other bedding related items, such as mattress bases, pillows, bedding/sheets, and mattress protectors. We will only provide DreamCloud mattress reviews today, though.

Construction Overview

Since the DreamCloud Premier is a hybrid luxury mattress, it includes several materials and layers of foams and coils, which creates a supported and comfortable user experience. This user experience aims to aid sleep, which is crucial to your longevity and health. Here are the parts of the Premier Mattress in more detail:

The cover is made from a cashmere and polyester blend, which is quilted with memory foam.

The hybrid mattress includes several layers of foam that maximize comfort. It includes a built-in pillow top cushion and Eurotop layer, which is made from two layers of foam. The top layer of the Eurotop is a gel-infused memory foam that provides a body-contour and pressure relieving experience.

The quilted memory foam cover and the top layer of the Eurotop allow the mattress to contour to your body.

This mattress includes several layers that create a more supported sleeping environment. The second Eurotop layer is a supportive poly foam, which is firmer than memory foam. Beneath that is a pocketed coil support layer and a high-density polyfoam base layer.

The DreamCloud Premier is a 15-inch mattress made from a cashmere blend, gel-infused memory foam, polyfoam, and individually-wrapped pocketed coils. The pocketed coils rest on an HD polyfoam base that both provides a firm base for the coils and eliminates the need for a box spring.

Rating Breakdown

According to our DreamCloud mattress reviews, the DreamCloud bed has a medium firmness. Its medium firmness comes from its construction and use of both coils and foam. The foam provides a softer cushion while the coils provide firmer support.

By using both materials, the softness of the foam is balanced by the firmness of the coils and vice versa.  As a result, the DreamCloud has a medium firmness.

The balance between the foam and coils makes this mattress ideal for most sleepers. It is neither too soft nor too firm for back or side sleepers. More so, the medium firmness makes it a great mattress option for couples.

Pressure relief refers to a bed’s ability to reduce tension around the hips, back, and shoulders. Side sleepers are especially in need of pressure-relieving beds since their bodies are not laid down in an even way like back or stomach sleepers.

This mattress relieves a lot of pressure due to the memory foam layers. These layers contour around the body and spread out the body weight, allowing for pressure relief. Pressure points around the side and back are adequately relieved for this reason.

There are only a few DreamCloud mattress complaints, one of which being that this mattress might exacerbate pressure and back pain in stomach sleepers. Because of the memory foam, stomach sleepers might sink too far into the mattress, causing pressure on the lower back area.

Unlike other mattress warranties, the DreamCloud comes with a lifetime warranty, making it much more durable than many other mattress options. More so, the warranty includes replacements, repairs, or re-covers in the case that something should happen to your mattress.

Because of the foam and coils, the DreamCloud offers great support. It has features that make the bed very comfortable, but these features do not hinder movement or make you feel like you are trapped in the mattress.

More specifically, the coil layer and poly foams provide enough support for both back and side sleepers. The support offered from these layers makes the mattress bouncy, suitable for changing sleeping positions, and less likely to sink.

The mattress has good edge support, but it is not as reinforced as most hybrid models.

The coil layer and base give the edges a sturdy feel. The edges are then reinforced with a double-row rim of higher gauge coils. Because of this, most individuals will be able to sleep near the edge of the bed comfortably.

Still, the edges aren’t as supported as many hybrid models, and sleepers over 230-pounds may find the edges less supportive than they would like.

DreamCloud offers superior cooling and temperature regulation. Since the cover is made from cashmere, the outer layer of the mattress wicks away heat. More so, the gel-infused memory foam keeps the surface of the mattress cool.

Additionally, the coil center allows for air to flow through the center of the mattress, which further regulates the temperature of the mattress by dispersing heat evenly and efficiently.

This hybrid mattress isolates some motion while still allowing room for some bounce and movement. The built-in pillow top and layers of memory foam isolate movement, which will help to keep you asleep if you have a partner that changes sleeping positions a lot.

At the same time, the coil springs give the mattress a bouncier feel that spreads throughout the entire mattress. The coils are pocketed to reduce the spread of the motion, but the motion is not absorbed completely.

If you have ever purchased a new mattress, you know that they often come with a weird smell when you first open them.

Synthetic foams are prone to off-gassing odors because of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are produced during the manufacturing process. When the mattress is compressed and shipped, the VOCs get trapped inside. It is not until you unpack the mattress that the odors can dissipate.

The DreamCloud comes with this smell at first, but the smell is not dangerous at all. To prevent sleeping in a bed with this odor, let the mattress air out before sleeping in it. The airing out process can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days.

The various foams used in the construction make the DreamCloud much quieter than traditional spring mattresses because the foam absorbs or muffles the noise that the coils produce.

This low noise rating makes the DreamCloud ideal for intimate settings or if you have a partner who moves a lot.

Because of the coil layer, the DreamCloud has a nice bounce that many couples find helpful. At the same time, the memory foam contours closely enough to the body to provide some traction without making you feel trapped in the mattress. Together, these two features make this mattress great for intimacy.

More so, the memory foam also makes the mattress quieter than other hybrid or coil models, making it ideal for discreet intimacy.

DreamCloud is a much more affordable option than other hybrid luxury mattresses. The sizes range from Twin to California King, with the prices ranging from $699 to $1,399.

Especially when you consider the comfort and support provided by this mattress, the DreamCloud has a great price value that is much more affordable than other luxury hybrid mattresses.

DreamCloud comes with great customer service. The DreamCloud comes with free shipping and returns and a 365-night trial. If you are unhappy, you can get a refund on the mattress.

If you decide to stick with that mattress, it comes with a lifetime warranty. With the warranty, you will get a completely new mattress if there is a defect within the first 10 years of purchase. After the first 10 years, DreamCloud will repair, re-cover, or replace the defective mattress.

How does DreamCloud compare to other Mattress Brands?

DreamCloud vs Nectar

  • The Nectar mattress is an all-foam mattress, while the DreamCloud has a hybrid construction with both coils and foam.
  • The Nectar is much softer because of its all-foam construction. Sleepers of the Nectar will feel like they are in the bed (as opposed to on the bed) because the foam will contour to their body and allow them to sink deep into the mattress. This fact can make changing positions more difficult. The DreamCloud is more firm and bouncy because of the coils, which will make the sleeper feel more on top of the bed and make changing positions easier.
  • The all-foam Nectar is ideal for side sleepers since the foam hugs the entire body and relieves pressure. Though the DreamCloud is also good for side sleepers, it will not provide as much pressure relief as the Nectar because of its hybrid design.
  • The Nectar is more affordable than the DreamCloud.

DreamCloud vs Saatva

  • The Saatva is an innerspring, coil-in-coil mattress. This structure allows the Saatva to have a lot of bounce and mobility and causes the sleeper to feel as if they are sitting directly on top of the bed. The DreamCloud, on the other hand, is softer because of its use of foam, which will cause the sleeper to sink into the bed a bit.
  • The Saatva is more traditional in construction in that it is not compressed and shipped in a box. The DreamCloud is compressed and shipped in a box, which will produce the off-gassing odor.
  • The DreamCloud only has one firmness, which is a medium firmness. The Saatva has three firmness levels. The Luxury Firm model is closest to the firmness of the DreamCloud.
  • The price of both mattresses is relatively similar.

FAQs

Is DreamCloud a good mattress?

Yes, our DreamCloud mattress reviews find that it is a good mattress. At an affordable price, the DreamCloud hybrid mattress provides you with optimal support and comfort. It is especially great for couples, back sleepers, and side sleepers.

Is DreamCloud good for side sleepers?

The DreamCloud is better for side sleepers than most hybrid mattresses. The various foam layers will allow the mattress to hug the body and relieve any pressure.

If you want a bed most suited for a single side sleeper, though, an all-foam mattress may be a better option because it will best provide pressure relief for side sleepers. The Leesa mattress is a great example of an all-foam mattress.

In the case that you are a side sleeper who shares the bed with a back sleeper, the DreamCloud may be the best option for you and your partner. The reason for this is that the DreamCloud is both supportive enough for back sleepers and pressure-relieving enough for side sleepers.

Do you need a box spring with a DreamCloud mattress?

Since the DreamCloud mattress is a hybrid, you will not need a box for this mattress. The only time you will need a box is if you are using a metal frame.

The reason you do not need a box for hybrid (or full foam) mattresses is that they include a foam layer that acts as the base. This layer provides a firm base for the coils, which defeats the purpose of the box spring.

How long does a DreamCloud mattress last?

According to the mattress warranty, your DreamCloud should last a lifetime. In fact, DreamCloud is one of the only mattress companies to offer a lifetime warranty on their product.

If your DreamCloud has a defect within the first 10 years of purchase, DreamCloud will replace the mattress for no cost. After that 10 year period, DreamCloud will repair, re-cover, or replace the mattress.
